Event Description
This Just In: Latest Discoveries in the Universe, wtih Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium, Rose Center for Earth and Space, at the American Museum of Natural History. Dr. Tyson is the recipient of 18 honorary doctorates and the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal, the highest award given by NASA to a non-government citizen. His contributions to the public appreciation of the cosmos have been recognized by the International Astronomical Union in their official naming of asteroid 13123 Tyson. Currently, Tyson is working on a 21st century reboot of Carl Sagans landmark television series COSMOS, to air in 13 episodes on the FOX network in the spring of 2014. Visit haydenplanetarium.org. This is a DGV event. Seating is limited and expected to sell out. Get your tickets in advance at the Box Office or www.mvcc.edu/tickets

MVCC STUDENTS: This will count towards; 1 out of your 4 DGV events for degree seeking students or 1 out of your 2 DGV events for certificate seeking students. Fulfilling your DGV criteria is mandatory for Graduation. You must arrive on time, stay until the end of the event, and present a valid photo ID to receive DGV credit.

Tickets are REQUIRED for this event; obtain your tickets in advance! Tickets are available at the Utica Box Office-IT 106 (located next to Schafer Theater) in the IT Building of the Utica Campus, Monday-Friday from 10:00am-2:00pm, and 1 hour prior to the start time. Tickets are available on the Rome Campus in the Student Services Office in the Plumley Complex, Monday-Friday from 11:00am-7:00pm. Tickets may be purchased online at www.mvcc.edu/tickets
